Pet of the Week

February 24, 2013
The Maui News

I'm "Hope Fund" cat Peaches No. 4, and I woke up in the holding kennels alone on Jan. 27. Apparently, I had been hit by a car and was barely hanging on to life. With a fractured pelvis, I was unable to move other than being able to slightly lift my head. I was cold, but the vet staff room was warm and safe. With all the gentle voices and caring faces, I knew I was going to be well cared for. Now, with bed rest and a ton of tender loving care, I'm getting better every day. Now I spend my days cruising around the Vet Department as part of my physical therapy. My back legs still wobble a bit, but that never gets in the way of my snuggle sessions. I'm hoping I can wobble my way right into your heart and, better yet, your home.
