Remembering Poki under the monkeypod

First Photo: Kumu hula Uluwehi Guerrero recounts a story of his youth about making music with his grandparents and family, while performing at the Picnic for Poki event under the monkeypod tree near Kaahumanu Church in Wailuku on Thursday morning. The free concert series, sponsored by Roselani Place and Ola Na Mele Productions, features Hawaiian-style entertainment each third Thursday of the month, starting at 11 a.m. The series was started by Allen "Braddah Poki" Pokipala and has continued in his honor since his death in 2011.
