* Jack Hamilton will present his minature oil and acrylic paintings, plus panoramic views of Maui scenery from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in March at Maui Hands' Makawao gallery, located at 1169 Makawao Ave.
Hamilton often starts and completes a piece during his demonstration, so this is an oppotunity to see art created before your eyes.
“Chicago”?by Mort Lubby
* Watercolor artist Mort Luby will appear from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays in March at Maui Hands at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali.
Luby, who has divided his time between Maui and Chicago for many years, was featured recently in an exhibition at the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art in downtown Chicago. The show featured 100 paintings of Chicago scenes painted by Luby en plein air and in his studio.
* Scott Mead will present his photography from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays in March at Maui Hands in Lahaina, located at 612 Front St.
An expert at light manipulation, Mead carefully selects his subjects and locations to optimize the ever-changing atmospheric conditions the islands present.
* Figurative painter Amanda Scott will appear from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays in March at Maui Hands in Paia, located at 84 Hana Hwy.
Scott's muse is often the female figure, which she renders in a variety of ethnic contexts, primarily Polynesian.
Sargent's Fine Art will host acclaimed sculptor, Gaylord Ho, from 7 to 10 tonight, Friday and Saturday. The main theme in all his artwork is "emotion," which is translated through the body, pose and character of his sculptures.

Macario Pascual will unveil his latest works during an opening celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Village Galleries, located at 120 Dickenson St. in Lahaina. Pascual's annual exhibition will be on display through March 21 at the gallery. A longtime Maui resident, he captures many joyful memories in his plein air oil paintings.

Maui Crafts Guild will feature the stained-glass mosaics of Monica Morais and jewelry by metalsmith Shelly King throughout March, beginning with an opening reception from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the gallery, located at 69 Hana Hwy. in Paia.
Morais has created many colorful pieces on different surfaces, including ukuleles. King's one-of-a-kind jewelry contains a variety of precious and unusual stones surrounded by intricate chains reminiscent of fine crochet work.
