I've really been enjoying the puns in The Maui News headlines recently. My congratulations to whichever punster is assigned the job - he or she is doing a great job. I wish I could bring one of them to mind - some of them are laugh-out-loud funny.
But a headline in the Feb. 25 paper confuses me: "How Hawaii could be effected by cuts." Surely this could not be the solecism it appears to be. But try as I might, I fail to see how to get a pun out of it.
Please enlighten.
