The University of Hawaii baseball team earned its first win of the season and ended the worst losing streak in school history with an 8-3 victory over Loyola Marymount on Saturday at the Rebel Classic in Las Vegas.
Kalei Hanawahine went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for the Rainbows (1-10), who set a season-high for runs. Marc Flores was 2-for-4 with three runs.
Corey MacDonald (1-1) pitched a five-hitter with two walks and five strikeouts.
The Lions fell to 4-7.
Loyola Marymount's Aaron Griffin (1-2) permitted six runs - three earned - over 4 2/3 innings.
Hawaii will face Nevada-Las Vegas today.
