The Lahaina Restoration Foundation will award a total $35,000 in increments of $2,000 to $2,500 to 11 graduating seniors and six alumni, thanks to an anonymous donor's contribution.
Interested seniors and alumni of Lahainaluna High School must write an essay relating to the importance and challenges of preserving West Maui's culture and history and meet all requirements in order to qualify.
Students may obtain applications from Lahainaluna financial aid counselor Kristi Arakawa or by downloading them from the foundation's website at www.lahainarestoration.org. Applications must be returned no later than 11 a.m. March 15 to the Lahaina Restoration Foundation office located at 120 Dickenson St., Suite A.
