Military is exaggerating effect of sequestration

March 7, 2013
The Maui News

Some in Congress have gotten their knickers in a knot over sequestration and its adverse impact on the military.

The Pentagon would have to cut $46 billion, or about 9 percent of its budget (source: slate.com), and, according to the Pentagon, this will put the country in danger. If a 9 percent reduction in spending is the difference between survival and our doom we better rethink the whole military industrial complex thing - the money we spend and what we get (or don't get) for our tax dollars.

Sequestration is not castration, only modest depravation.
