OUT LAHAINA WAY . . . Those who love lattes, cappuccinos and other coffee drinks will find an expanded espresso bar at Sir Wilfred's on Front Street in Lahaina.
"We saw a need for more seats, especially when the cruise ships come in," says owner Bill Burton. "The Europeans and the South Americans like espresso, and they just love they way we make ours."
Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. "Every time we come to Lahaina, we come here because they have the best coffee, friendliest service and great cigars,' say Maui pals Brian Smith and Chris Radermacher.

BITS AND PIECES . . . Remember chef Matteo Mistura of the former Matteo's in Wailea (now Manoli's)? He's back on the island after spending some quality time with family in his native Liguria region of Italy, and now he's looking forward to opening a Wailea restaurant. Stay tuned for the location.

Wow! People who attended the Turley wine dinner at Hali'imaile General Store Friday were floored by how fab the meal was, prepared by Chef Beverly Gannon and her ace culinary team.
When they all came out of the kitchen at the evening's end to take bows, Maui No Ka Oi magazine's publisher Diane Haynes Woodburn announced that Gannon will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at her magazine's annual 'Aipono ceremony on Sunday, April 14, at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua's ballroom.
We hear Chef Jaron Blosser, a partner in Three's Bar & Grill in Kihei, and his wife Shannon Blosser, just had a healthy baby boy Tuesday.
Jaron is the man who daily does the most shucking of fresh oysters at Three's, and we hear they just "fly out the door." Slurp some Kumamotos as you sip on the Trash Tea drink, all the rage there.
