MIL tennis: Molokai boys topple Lahainaluna 3-2

The Molokai High School boys tennis team claimed both doubles points against Lahainaluna on the way to a 3-2 victory Saturday in a Maui Interscholastic League match at Hoolehua.

Kamanu Pasqua and Pono Chow defeated Kyle Richard and Jordan Baclay 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, and Paul Parker and Caulen Angelsea won by default as the Farmers improved to 3-1.

The Lunas dropped to 2-2.

* LAHAINALUNA GIRLS 5, MOLOKAI 0: At Hoolehua, Lahainaluna lost a total of just three games in the five matches.

Two singles players for the Lunas (4-0) won at love - Joanna Acere at No. 1 against Oceana Mandany, and Amanda Mortimore at No. 3 against Kea'a Davis.

Molokai is 0-4.

* MAUI HIGH BOYS 5, MAUI PREP 0: At Kahului, Maui High lost just six games in improving to 3-0.

The Sabers' Devan Kepler did not drop a game in his victory over Kameryn Pupunu at No. 2 singles.

Maui Prep is now 1-3.

* MAUI HIGH GIRLS 4, MAUI PREP 1: At Kahului, Maui High earned a pair of wins at love in singles play.

Steffi Molina of the Sabers (3-0) beat Mikayla Head 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, and L.J. Gaviana was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Suniva Thangaraj at No. 2.

Maui Prep fell to 1-3.
