"Definitely would have wanted the outcome to be different for Hawaii, but (I'm) very proud of the girls," first-year Hawaii coach Laura Beeman said on the UH athletics website. She added she is hopeful the Rainbow Wahine will be invited to the WNIT.
Kamilah Martin had 15 points and 13 rebounds for the third-seeded Rainbow Wahine (17-13). Monica DeAngelis and Ashleigh Karaitiana each added nine for Hawaii, which received a first-round bye.
