Maui Police Department Kihei officers and Kihei Youth Center members work to plant 50 native seedlings at the D.T. Fleming Arboretum at Pu‘u Mahoe on a Choice Mentorship Field Trip on Tuesday. Kaleb Alconcel leads a group carrying buckets of mulch to the new plantings. The Choice Mentorship Program was created by the Kihei police officers and the youth center to teach youths to make good choices as a preventative to gang violence.
