Kapua, You win state gymnastics golds
Valley Isle Gymnastics claimed multiple medals Sunday in the USA Gymnastics state championship meet at the Hawaiian Island Twisters gym in Mapunapuna, Oahu.
In level 4, Daniel Kapua took gold in the rings, vault and high bar, and was the bronze medalist in floor exercise.

Jonathan You took gold in every apparatus as the sole level 8 competitor.
Thomas Logan placed second in floor, rings and vault and third in high bar in the junior level 4 division. Austin Cablay placed third in floor, fourth in rings, fifth in high bar and sixth in vault in level 5. Adam Bartlett placed third in rings and high bar and fifth in floor and vault in level 5.

Daimyo claims AJA championship
Daimyo won the Maui AJA Baseball League championship on Monday with a 6-5 victory over Happyhour at Maehara Stadium in Wailuku.
Daimyo scored four runs in the first inning, and led the rest of the way. Ian Shimabuku hit a solo home run for Daimyo in the fourth.
Happyhour's Royce Fukuroku was 3-for-3. Jason Miyahira had a double and triple.

Junior golf benefit tourney set for April 28
The Maui Junior Golf Association's benefit tournament is scheduled for April 28 at King Kamehameha Country Club in Wailuku. Check-in will begin at 6 a.m., and a shotgun start is scheduled for 7 a.m.
The entry fee for the two-person scramble is $125 per player, which also pays for greens fees, refreshments, a luncheon and entry into contests and drawings. Two hole-in-one contests are part of the event - the prizes are a car or a trip to Las Vegas. Entry forms are available at mjga.net.
