Connor Little pitched eight strong innings and Conner George had a three-run triple in the fourth as the University of Hawaii baseball team defeated Wichita State 6-1 on Wednesday in the opener of a five-game series at Les Murakami Stadium.
The Rainbows (3-15) won a second straight home game after losing their first 11.
Little (1-3) allowed seven hits, walked one batter and struck out four before Law-rence Chew pitched a scoreless ninth.
Tyler Baker had three hits for the Shockers (11-10).
Wichita State's Tobin Mateychick (2-3) allowed four runs over 3 1/3 innings.
The teams will play again today at 6:35 p.m.
