Corey MacDonald allowed just four hits in a complete-game performance to lead the University of Hawaii baseball team to a 6-2 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Friday at Les Murakami Stadium.

The win evens the season-opening series in the Big West Conference for both teams at a game apiece with the finale of the set today at 1:05 p.m.

MacDonald (3-2) struck out six and walked two as Hawaii improved to 6-17 for the season and 5-2 in its last seven games.

Hawaii's Conner George went 3-for-3 with a run, while Austin Wobrock was 2-for-3 with two runs. Piikea Kitamura had a two-run double and Kaeo Aliviado hit a two-run single for Hawaii.

After MacDonald gave up both runs in the second, the Rainbows tied the game with two runs in the sixth and took command with a four-run seventh.

Justin Jacome (2-2) took the loss, giving up three runs in 6 1/3 innings for the Gauchos (13-11).
