Refreshing to read the March 27 editorial.
It brought to mind something that an enlightened friend of mine posted on Facebook. That quote was the following: "I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened. As new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances. Institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors."
Personally, I want to see all people have equal opportunity to everything that this great country has to offer. I may not agree with each choice that is made, but I respect your right to make it. It is time we reached out to one another with love, acceptance and understanding.
By the way, in case you didn't know it, that quote was taken directly off of Thomas Jefferson's memorial.
