Sale to benefit teen constestants
The Miss Maui, Mister Maui and Miss Maui's Outstanding Teen contestants will be holding a "Huge Fundraiser Rummage Sale" 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
They will be setting up shop at the corner of Market and Main streets at the MDG Building in Wailuku.

There will be clothing, books, games, televisions, baked goods and fresh Caesar salads for sale.
Immigration topic of presentation
Maui County Immigrant Services Coordinator Kevin Block will talk on "Immigration 101 and Immigration Reform On Maui" during the Maui Mental Health America brown-bag lunch presentation from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 16 in the Cameron Center auditorium.
Supporting his presentation will be a panel of Maui individuals representing the Filipino, Latina, Marshallese, Micronesian and Tongan perspectives on immigration.
There will be time allowed for questions and answers.

MMMC doctor wins national award
Dr. Michael J. Sassman, chairman of Department of Radiology at Maui Memorial Medical Center, has been named "Radiology Physician of the Year" by EmCare.
EmCare is a national company that established the "Physician of the Year" program to honor an exceptional individual in the field of emergency medicine, hospital medicine, anesthesiology and radiology.
Sassman was selected from among 8,200 physicians.
Linares to speak at Kiwanis meeting
Vincent Linares will be guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Maui meeting at noon Thursday in Cary and Eddie's Hideaway restaurant in Kahului.
Linares will speak on the Maui Academy for the Performing Arts. He is president of the academy's board of directors.
The meeting is open to the public and visitors are welcome. Lunch is $12.

Sterilization clinics for cats begin April 20
9th Life Hawaii has sterilized more than 5,210 cats and is looking to sterilize more.
The organization will hold clinics for tame cats only April 20, 21, 27 and 28. 9th Life Hawaii can sterilize kittens as young as 8 weeks of age. It will not sterilize pregnant cats. Free health fair planned in Hana
The Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Inc. will host a free health fair at the Hana Community Center (Old Hana School), 1501 Uakea Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13.
The fair will include free health screenings, entertainment and lunch.
Meeting to plan BHS' anniversary
A meeting to plan Baldwin High School's 75th anniversary celebration will be held in the school's new library at 5 p.m. April 18.
The festivities will take place in October.
Alumni, staff and other individuals may attend the meeting.

Social media topic of April 13 workshop
High Tech Maui's Social Media Boot Camp - led by consultant Peter Liu of Kaiscapes LLC - will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13, the Maui Economic Development Board announced.
The camp will be at the MEDB's Malcolm Center at 1305 N. Holopono St., Suite 5, in Kihei.
The workshop costs $65 and is designed for people new to social media or starting to think about an overall social media business strategy. Lunch is included.
