Easing into surfing

April 10, 2013
The Maui News
Leni Young, 5, gets a push from Memphis Brown, 4, on Tuesday at Cove Park in Kihei. The Haiku surfers were catching a lot of waves on the inside break with well-timed shoves from their moms. “We come here all the time,” said mom Nicole Young. “They love to surf together. This is a great place to learn.” For today and Thursday, National Weather Service forecasters predict mostly sunny skies with isolated showers in the morning, becoming partly sunny with scattered showers in the afternoon and partly cloudy at night. High temperatures are expected to range from 80 to 85 degrees, with overnight lows of 65 to 70. Winds should blow out of the southeast from 15 to 20 mph. More rain and clouds are expected Friday through Sunday.
