Beachgoers battle blustery winds

April 24, 2013
The Maui News
Kona winds gusting in off the ocean cannot keep the morning walkers from taking their strolls Tuesday morning in Kealia. National Weather Service forecasters predict that the past few days’ variable winds would subside today, replaced with trade winds out of the east blowing around 15 mph. Skies should be partly sunny with scattered showers, although locally hazy conditions may persist. Tonight through Sunday, residents should expect partly cloudy skies and scattered showers, especially in windward areas. High temperatures will be 82 to 87 degrees, with overnight lows of 68 to 73.
