Shirley Ann Kaha'i, 60, of Wailuku, passed away on April 23, 2013 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center, Arizona. She was born on August 3, 1952 in Wailuku, Hawaii.
Family and friends are invited to gather for her funeral services on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Ballard Family Mortuary, with visitation from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, services at 4:00 pm, with cremation to follow.
She was the Program Director of Friends of Moku`ula, a non-profit organization. The Friends of Moku`ula cultivates awareness of the Hawaiian culture through restoration, preservation, education and revitalization of Moku`ula island and Mokuhinia ponds.
She is survived by her mother, Louise Medeiros; step-father, Peter Keau; son, Brandon Kaha'i; hanai daughter, Anabelle Paet, hanai grandson, Damien Paet Dumayas; sister, Bernadine "Bernie" Kauweloa; brothers, James (Marilyn) Medeiros, Joseph Kaha'i, Jr., and Matthew (Maria) Keau; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Kaha'i, Sr.
