Yap wins stand-up paddling title
Baldwin High School student Noah Yap won the junior pro stand-up division championship in Sunday's inaugural Performance Paddling SUP Fiesta at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach, Calif.
Yap earned $1,000 for his win in the World Paddle Association-sanctioned event.
Skateboard event scheduled for May 18
The South Maui Parks and Recreation Department's Southside Skate Jam is scheduled for May 18 at Kalama Park in Kihei. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., and the event is to begin at 9 a.m.
The free event for youths 10 and under will offer lessons, games and prizes.

Volleyball camp seeks participants
Aloha Volleyball's Summer Beach Camp is seeking youth and adult participants.
Practices and matches will take place at Kanaha Beach Park in Kahului three times per week, for eight weeks, starting June 3.

Waiehu to host Public Links qualifier
A U.S. Amateur Public Links sectional qualifier is scheduled for June 22 at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course.
Entry must be completed at usga.org/champs/apply by noon HST on May 22.
The national championship is scheduled for July 15-20 at Laurel Hill Golf Course in Lorton, Va.

Registration is under way for a Maui District Tennis Association 55 and over men's and women's league.
Maui matches are scheduled for July 7 to Sept. 1, and the state championships for Sept. 28-29 at Central Oahu Regional Park.
