Removing wreckage

May 19, 2013
The Maui News
Brian Ponzi (left) and Hank Lynch of Parker Marine work on removing the wreck of the 30-foot monohull Caribou III and its debris from the shoreline Saturday at Mala. The Caribou was one of three boats to wash ashore with high surf at Mala on Friday. Officials with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources said they were working with boat owners to remove debris from the shoreline. A high-surf advisory remained in effect for south-facing shores of Maui County until 6 p.m. today.
