High surf conditions for Maui County's south-facing shores will continue through 6 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service said Sunday afternoon
The surf is expected to range from 6 to 10 feet.
Swimmers should expect strong breaking waves and rip currents.
Beach-goers are advised to travel in groups, be aware of their surroundings, never turn their backs on the ocean and know their personal limits, said Cameron Layer, acting south district captain for Lifeguard 10.
