Lanai presents athletic awards
Gerard Kaukeano and Megan Amby were named Lanai High School's most outstanding athletes of the 2012-13 school year at the school's awards banquet on Thursday.
Amby was also chosen as most inspirational, along with Michael Domiquel, and received a scholar-athlete award, as did Dallas Del Rosario. The sportsmanship awards went to Kevin Tan and Paula Untalan. Coaches awards went to Del Rosario and Tatiana Figuerres (cross country), Amby and Jay Ryan Ballesteros (wrestling), Tiana Bala (softball and canoe paddling), Bowe Ebding (canoe paddling), Joshua Bailey Belista and Norlyn Cabonce (volleyball), Kevin Tan (baseball), Katie Sarme and Jestonie Molina (basketball), Tyler Pascua (golf), Karla Calso and Cody Patterson (tennis) and Michele Raqueno (pep squad).
Maui High seeking coaches
Maui High School is accepting applications for cross country and boys soccer coaches.
Applications are available at the main office of the school, in Kahului, and must be returned by Friday.

Ki-aikido course scheduled for June
An introductory course in ki-aikido for teens and adults will be offered every Thursday in June, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each day, at Maui Ki-Aikido's Shunshinkan Dojo at 194 S. Market St. in Wailuku.
The fee is $40, which will also pay for a training manual, and can be credited toward class dues if a student continues.
