Looks like a throat on fire

June 14, 2013
The Maui News
A brown anole lizard displays a red sack at its throat recently at the Kapalua Tennis Gardens. The flashing is designed to be attractive to females and scary to competing males. The brown anole species is originally from the Caribbean, including Cuba and the Bahamas. According to state wildlife biologist Fern Duvall, the lizards have been on Maui for 10 years or less and are expected to be abundant everywhere soon.
