First Photo: The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association disbursed $835,557 earned from the Visitor Industry Charity Walk in May to 102 nonprofit Maui County organizations Wednesday at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Awards also were handed out at the gathering. Bob Douglas (right) received the Maui Visitors Bureau's Inspiration Award, given to a volunteer from an nonprofit organization who went "above and beyond" and showed "extraordinary volunteerism," said Lisa Paulson (middle), executive director of the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association. Next to Paulson is Tom Bell, Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts president. Douglas, a volunteer with Na Hoaloha - Neighbors Helping Neighbors, issued a $5,000 matching challenge in his organization that led to Betsy Scheller (right in Second Photo) becoming the top pledge earner, with $15,165. She is shown with Paulson and Bell.
