The Hawaii Alpha Delta Kappa's Gamma Chapter recently awarded scholarships to four students of the Maui public schools. The recipients were honored at the chapter's April meeting.
The two recipients of $1,000 scholarships were Katherine Chun from Baldwin High School and Steven Okada from Maui High School.
Chun is the daughter of Grant and Joyce Chun. She plans to attend the University of Washington and major in chemistry.

Okada is the son of Scott and Shari Okada. He plans to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and major in physics.
The chapter also awarded two $600 scholarships to graduates who plan to attend the University of Hawaii Maui College. Brandon Astronomo from Baldwin High School and Bernadette Bautista from Maui High School were the recipients.
Astronomo plans to major in social work. He is the son of Roxanne Astronomo. Bautista, daughter of Bonifacio and Janet Bautista, plans to major in culinary arts.
Founded in 1947, Alpha Delta Kappa is an International Honorary Sorority for women educators. Members are dedicated to improving education and the teaching profession, increasing world understanding through cultural exchanges and making a difference in their communities through volunteer services.
