Day an occasional beauty for Baldwin Beach

August 29, 2013
The Maui News
Dan Kolp and Kelly Candeur walk along pristine Baldwin Beach on Wednesday afternoon. It was recent transplant Candeur’s first time on the beach. Kolp, who has lived on Maui for three years, said, “It’s beautiful day.” But he warned that the north shore beach is not always so calm and tame. National Weather Service forecasters said Maui’s windward areas can expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers through Saturday while leeward areas should get isolated showers at night and mostly sunny mornings. High temperatures should range from 86 to 91 degrees, with overnight lows of 70 to 75. Winds should blow out of the east at 5 to 15 mph, except during the day when sea breezes sweep in at 10 mph in leeward and interior areas.
