David Allan Murray, 86, of Pukalani, passed peacefully into his eternal home, Aug. 30, 2013, under Hospice care.
Visitation will begin at 9:30am, Monday, Sept. 16, at Pukalani Baptist Church, with services at 11am. Inurnment will follow at 12:30pm at Maui Veteran's Cemetery.
Mr. Murray was born the son of John Murray, Sr. and Annie Kalawa, on Dec. 6, 1926 in Hana, Maui. He dedicated 50+ years to coaching and developing Little League baseball and other organized youth sports, served in the Pukalani Community Assoc, played in the Makule Baseball League, enjoyed golfing, cooking and joyously serving in his church. He served in WWII, and was a corrections officer at the Olinda Honor Camp, retiring as a Captain. He loved sharing his stories about the "good ol' days.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Tanaka Murray; sons, Calvin (Yolanda) Murray and Jeff (Summer) Murray; daughter, Debbie (Wendell) Gonsalves, 9 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
