The 91st Maui Fair got underway Thursday with its traditional parade down Kaahumanu and Kanaloa avenues as the sumptuous aroma of some of the food options wafted through the air. Baldwin High Robotics was the grand marshal of the parade, and University of Hawaii Maui College Chancellor Clyde Sakamoto was the honorary fair director. Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui and Mayor Alan Arakawa rode in the parade along with the usual cast of marchers including high school bands, floats from local organizations and representatives of youth groups. The fair continues from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today with the 24th Special Fair, for those with disabilities, and with general admission from 5 p.m. to midnight. The rest of the hours of the fair are Saturday, 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
