Oct. 25-27-The Elmarie Dagupion Memorial Fishing Tournament, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Oct. 25 to noon on Oct. 27. Weigh-ins are scheduled for the final day, at the Sugar Cane Train station in Kaanapali, from 10 a.m. to noon. Prizes will be awarded in a youth division (ages 5-14) for the largest edible fish, and adult division (15 and above) for the largest ulua. Saturday-The 40th annual Lester Hamai Memorial golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville, with a 7 a.m. shotgun start. The event is open to all members of Maui women's golf clubs with an established maximum GHIN handicap of 36 or better. The entry fee of $80 also pays for use of a cart, an awards luncheon and eligibility for hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin contests. A car is available as a hole-in-one prize. Nov. 2-The seventh annual Filipino Martial Arts Maui Open is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 2 at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Lahaina. Competition will be offered in padded-stick fighting, empty-hand kumite, caranza and sayaw, kata and submission grappling, and is open to all ages.
