Ngan, Terada win HSJGA division titles
Justin Ngan of Wailuku won the boys 15-18 division title in the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association's Kiahuna Junior Classic on Sunday on Kauai, defeating Wailuku's Tyler Mu-netake in a tiebreaker, and Ka-hului's Jordan Terada took the boys 11-12 championship.
Ngan closed with a 73 at Kiahuna Golf Club for a 150 total, while Munetake had a 74. The tiebreaker was matching scorecards on the final nine holes.
Terada's final-round 85 gave him a 168 total, 30 shots better than the runner-up, James Pratt (93) of Kauai.
Wilbur posts PR time at Chicago Marathon
Lindsey Wilbur of Kihei recorded a personal-best time of 3 hours, 11 minutes, 22 seconds at the Chicago Marathon on Sunday.
Wilbur was the 196th woman to finish out of 17,373, and placed 58th in the 30-34 age division.
Rotary Club golf event scheduled for Oct. 26
The Rotary Club of Lahaina Golf Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 26 at the Kaanapali Kai Course, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The entry fee for the scramble event, a fundraiser for the Rotary Club scholarship program and global effort to eliminate polio, is $100, which also pays for entry into four hole-in-one contests offering prizes of $5,000 and $10,000, as well as closest-the-pin contests and a luncheon.
Individuals and teams of four golfers can sign up.
