Christian Standhardinger had 20 points and 12 rebounds as the University of Hawaii men's basketball team beat Tennessee State 85-55 in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Rainbow Classic on Friday at the Stan Sheriff?Center in Honolulu.
Isaac Fotu added 16 points and eight rebounds and Garrett Nevel scored 13 points, going 3-of-4 from 3-point range, for the Rainbow Warriors on opening day of the college basketball season.
Hawaii held a 47-28 rebounding advantage and made 28 of 37 free-throw attempts, compared to 12 of 17 for Tennessee State.
The Rainbow Warriors held a 41-20 halftime lead. Nevels scored 13 points and Standhardinger added 12.
Patrick Miller scored 15 points for the Tigers, who shot 1-of-15 from 3-point range.
Hawaii will play Western Michigan today.
