Hawaii men topple Western Michigan

Christian Standhardinger and Keith Shamburger each scored 17 points and Isaac Fotu had a double-double as the University of Hawaii men's basketball team beat Western Michigan 74-64 in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Rainbow Classic on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff?Center in Honolulu.

Fotu had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Rainbow Warriors (2-0).

Hawaii went on a 16-5 run for a 68-58 lead with 6 minutes, 12 seconds remaining.

David Brown and Kellen McCormick each scored 14 points for the Broncos (1-1).

The Rainbow Warriors' next game will be midnight Tuesday morning against New Mexico State as part of ESPN's 24 straight hours of basketball.
