UH women claim home opener 77-66

The University of Hawaii women's basketball team won its home opener 77-66 over Washington State in the Rainbow Wahine Classic on Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Kamilah Jackson had 21 points and 15 rebounds and Briana Harris also scored 21 for the Rainbow Wahine (2-1).

Hawaii went on a 13-0 run for a 56-46 lead with 8 minutes, 7 seconds remaining.

Lia Galdeira, a Konawaena High School alumnus, finished with 29 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars (1-2).

The Rainbow Wahine will play Mississippi today.
