The theme for Maui Mall's Family Sundays event from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday is appreciation, gratitude and Thanksgiving.
The event will include a keiki activity passport in which children can visit three Maui United Way fun stations and enter to win gift cards.
It will also feature the recognition of a Maui student and iPad Mini giveaway via teacher nomination.
Lihikai Elementary School 2nd-grader Brayden Balangitao was named the iPad Mini winner for October’s Maui Mall Family Sundays event.

This is the last Family Sundays event before the finale on Jan. 26 in which students who have been featured onstage in 2013 will be given another opportunity to be recognized for their efforts. In addition, students who were not awarded an iPad Mini in 2013 will be given a chance to win a MacBook Air notebook.
Other activities planned Sunday include a Genki Sushi spicy ahi tuna roll eating contest for teens only (pre-register at Genki Sushi), an adult scavenger hunt, onstage trivia by Read Aloud America, and a Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist League tournament and free workshop.
Last month, Maui Mall awarded 2nd-grader Brayden Balangitao of Lihikai Elementary School an iPad Mini. He was nominated by his teacher, Dayni Shimomura, who said that Brayden never complains when given challenging tasks but uses them as opportunities to learn and problem solve.
"Brayden is a student that possesses a positive attitude no matter what he is presented," said Shimomura. "He is very responsible to complete his homework as well as classroom responsibilities. Brayden is a cheerful student who loves to share his knowledge with others. He loves to share books he reads and inspires others to read too."
On top of being named Surfer of the Month for September, Shimomura said that he is a good example to others by displaying positive actions in school.
