Tools highlight campaign money

November 27, 2013

KAILUA-KONA (AP) - An enhanced website and app are making it easier for the public to see how money is spent in Hawaii political campaigns.

State Campaign Spending Commission Executive Director Kristin Izumi-Nitao says the site, which can be accessed via ags.hawaii.gov/campaign, will give voters a good picture of whom they're voting for.

West Hawaii Today reported Tuesday that features include expenditures broken down by pie charts and the ability to see how much a contributor gave to each candidate. Charts will be updated automatically as candidates file their campaign reports.
