Mauian a director of Maggie's List
Cindy Sue Clark of Maui has been appointed Hawaii director and board member of Maggie's List.
The list is a federal political action committee created to raise awareness and funds to increase the number of conservative women elected to federal public office, a news release said.

Clark's experience in business and campaigns brought her to the attention of Sandra Mortham, former Florida secretary of state and current chairwoman of Maggie's List.
The list is named after Margaret Chase Smith, the first woman to be elected to both houses of Congress.
World AIDS Day event set for Kihei
The Maui AIDS Foundation will host a World AIDS Day event from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Stella Blues Cafe in Kihei.
The purpose of World AIDS Day is to bring together people from around the world to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate international solidarity in the face of the pandemic, according to an announcement. The day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the global impact of HIV/AIDS and to encourage progress in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
This free community event is open to all ages. There will be complimentary pupu and a no-host bar as well as entertainment provided by Louis & Lewis.
Stella Blues Cafe is located at 1279 S. Kihei Road.
Aquatics offices to shut for training
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Aquatic Resources offices statewide will be closed Tuesday to Thursday for a planning workshop.
Offices will reopen Friday.
Fishing licenses will not be issued, and front office services, such as bottom-fish vessel registration, net registration and poster sales, will not occur.
"We apologize for the inconvenience," said DLNR Deputy Director William Tam. "Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."
