Skydiver survives landing on power lines in Honolulu

November 30, 2013
The Associated Press

HONOLULU (AP) - A 25-year-old man escaped serious injury Thursday as he parachuted into high-voltage power lines and fell to the ground.

Honolulu Fire spokesman Terry Seelig told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that the man did not appear to be burned.

He was reported as stable and taken to a hospital.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said the man hit power lines near Dillingham Field at about 9:30 a.m.

Seelig said the man was talking and alert after the fall.
