Jan. 19-The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is scheduled for Jan. 19, with a course beginning at the Wailea overflow parking area and concluding in Kamehameha Iki Park in Lahaina. An early start is scheduled for 4:30 a.m., and other runners will start at 5:30 a.m. Half-marathon and 10-kilometer races will both start and end at Kamehameha Iki Park, beginning at 6:30 p.m. A 15K begins at Papalaua Beach in Lahaina at 7:20 a.m., and a 5K will start at the marathon's 23.1-mile mark at 8:20 a.m. The 15K and 5K will end at Kamehameha Iki Park. Registration and number pickup is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in Kihei at 2480 S. Kihei Road, No. 28, and from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday in Lahaina, at the Pioneer Inn. Jan. 25-The Lahaina Experience, a 2-mile race starting and ending at the intersection of Lahainaluna Road and Kelawea Street, is scheduled for 7 a.m. on Jan. 25. The entry fee for the untimed race, a fundraiser for the Lahainaluna High School cross country and track and field teams, is $25, which will pay for a T-shirt. Feb. 1-The Pacific Whale Foundation's Run and Walk for the Whales is scheduled for Feb. 1, starting and ending at the Maalaea Harbor Shops. The half-marathon will begin at 6:15 a.m., the 10-kilometer run at 6:45 a.m., the 5K at 7 a.m. and the 2.5-mile walk at 7:05 a.m. The entry fees are $55 until Jan. 29 and $70 on Jan. 30 or Feb. 1 for the half-marathon; $45 until Jan. 29 and $55 on Jan. 30 or Feb. 1 for the 10K; $40 until Jan. 29 and $50 on Jan. 30 or Feb. 1 for the 5K; and $25 until Jan. 29 and $30 on Jan. 30 or Feb. 1 for the walk.
