Catholic Charities Hawaii is very thankful for all of Santa's helpers that made the Christmas holiday so special for all the children and families in need in our community.
We felt especially blessed this year with so many toys, gifts for our older teens and food boxes for our families who needed a little extra help around the holidays.
We send our appreciation to Starwood Properties, Monsignor Terrance Watanabe, staff and volunteers of St Teresa's Parish; Father Roland Bunda, staff and volunteers of St. Anthony Parish; Evelyn Long with MW Group, Ltd. and all of the dance instructors from Keoni's DanceFit Studio.

What an incredible start to 2014 for Maui, as after a week of perfect weather and exciting/competitive golf at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, numerous Maui nonprofit organizations will receive thousands of dollars as a result of the efforts of 425 volunteers at the golf tournament.
Professional golfers and PGA Tour management stated that the volunteer team's performance was awesome, and that volunteers at this tournament were amongst the best of all volunteer teams at the 45 annual events held in the USA and four other countries.
Volunteer chairpersons John Valtierra (marshals), Gary Robert (volunteer headquarters), Lee and Ann Albrecht (on-course transportation), Doug McLellan (on-road transportation), Rod Ferguson (scoring), and Kathy Taylor (admissions) did an outstanding job leading their volunteer teams.
Further credit must go to Nancy Cross (tournament director) and Mike Jones (Troon Golf) as well as the individuals working on their teams, as communication and cooperation between all four groups was critical for a successful tournament.

Sheraton Maui Resort General Manager Tets Yamazaki, Executive Chef Greg Gaspar, Food and Beverage Manager Brandon Maeda, Ryan Stansel and staff, thank you so much for a fabulous, fun-filled day! Our annual Gingerbread House Celebration Event was a success, and it couldn't have happened without you. You all provided us an excellent venue and service, and a helpful, professional staff. We enjoyed every moment. The gingerbread houses look so amazing. We truly appreciate all you do for a positive growth of our agency and most importantly for our keiki.
You have shown that the aloha spirit of sharing and caring is what it truly is about. Good people doing great things.
