A six-week "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" class will be offered in Kahului and Lahaina beginning this month.
The topics will include reducing stress, improving self-confidence, communicating effectively with health care professionals and family members, balancing caregiving responsibilities, making tough decisions and locating helpful resources.
Classes consist of six sessions held once a week, according to an announcement. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help caregivers practice and incorporate caregiver tools.

The Lahaina class will meet at the West Maui Kaunoa Senior Center from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 28 to March 4.
