Barry Trofka, 68, of Makawao, passed away peacefully at Maui Memorial Hospital on January 17, 2014.
Born and raised in the New Kensington, Pennsylvania area and he graduated from Ken High.
He worked for Singer Sewing Machine Co.; West Penn Power as a lineman; and a truck driver for Coca-Cola.
He was a Silver Smith and sold his handmade items at shows around the area.
He moved to Hawaii in 1977 and worked as a ranch Foreman until he retired due to health reasons.
He loved animals, feeding birds, gardening, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and hunting with his Dad.
During Christmas he would dress as Santa and visit many organizations on Maui and enjoyed seeing the children smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Catherine Trofka of New Kensington.
He is survived by a son, Shane Trofka of Maui and a sister, Barbara Trofka DiPalma of Cheswick, and his beloved dog Thor.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Keokea at 11:00 am. As he requested, scattering of ashes off the ocean will be held at a later date.
