Thirty-one Maui County businesses and nonprofit organizations were nominated for the 2014 Mayor's Small Business Awards, the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and the Maui Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday.
The awards will be presented at the awards ceremony, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the King Kamehameha Golf Club's Waikapu Ballroom.
The awards to be presented include: Outstanding Business of the Year (0-10 employees), Outstanding Business of the Year (11-35 employees), Outstanding Business of the Year (36-100 employees), Non-profit Business of the Year (100 or fewer employees), Young Business Person of the Year (under 40 years of age), Lifetime Achievement Award (20 or more years in business) and 2014 Annette Pauole-Ahakuelo Moloka'i Small Business Achievement Award.
The Annette Pauole-Ahakuelo Molokai Small Business Achievement Award is a one-time addition to the awards slate.
It recognizes a small business on Molokai that demonstrates the spirit of entrepreneurship and exemplifies many of Annette Pauole-Ahakuelo's attributes, the news release said.
Tickets for the awards gathering are $60 if purchased before Friday. After that, the price is $65 per person. Reservations may be made for the awards dinner by calling the Maui Chamber of Commerce at 244-0081 or sending an email to email@example.com.
