UH shut out for first time this season

The University of Hawaii baseball team was shut out for the first team this season on Friday night, held to five hits in a 5-0 loss to Alabama-Birmingham at Les Murakami Stadium in Honolulu.

The Rainbow Warriors fell to 10-12.

Alex Luna (4-0) went 7 2/3 innings for UAB (17-6), and Turner Lee retired all four batters he faced.

Scott Squier (2-1) took the loss, allowing three runs - one earned - in six innings.

The teams are scheduled to meet again today.
