The Maui News

Brigham Young-Hawaii announced Friday it will phase out its athletics program over the next three years.

BYUH's Division II teams play in the Pacific West Conference in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's tennis and women's volleyball. The school said all committed scholarships will be honored, and the scheduled seasons will be completed.

PacWest commissioner Bob Hogue said in a statement: "While we are disappointed to lose one of our longest-serving members, we will move forward in a positive direction as a conference."
