KAHILI - Baldwin High School has a pair of freshman golfers named Justin, and both displayed the kind of poise and consistency uncommon for players their age in a Maui Interscholastic League showdown Wednesday at windswept Kahili Golf Course.
Justin Ngan fired a 37 and Justin Arcano a 38 to lead the Bears to a 159-177 victory over Lahainaluna in a battle of unbeatens.
"The two Justins, it was a real surprise today," said Baldwin coach Buff Burton. "They played really well today. They came to play today, which I'm very happy about. I thought the pressure would get to them, but they did it and they shot the numbers today."

The Bears (13-0) and Lunas (12-1) will finish the regular season Friday at the Kaanapali Kai Course. A win by Baldwin would give it a second straight undefeated regular season. A victory by Lahainaluna would force a playoff match.
"It should be fun going to play over there," Arcano said. "It should be tough."
Ngan birdied the third and fourth holes and bogeyed the second, sixth and seventh.
"I was feeling good. I was hitting the ball good," he said.
Arcano bogeyed the first two holes and added a double bogey on six, but birdied Nos. 7 and 9.
"It was a tough day with the wind like this," Arcano said. "The low shot was important today."
Ariel Elftman-Hanson recorded a 41 for the Bears, and Tyler Mune-take had a 43. Nathaniel Idica had a 45 and John Kaylan Dumo shot 46.
The Lunas were led by Tristan Villa, who fired a 42.
"It was a great round for him," said Lahainaluna coach Sutee Nitakorn. "He's been our fifth man, sixth man, so for him to come from behind and lead the team like that, he should be very proud about that. I feel good for him."
Kaimi Kanaha shot a 43, Kerek Franz had a 45 and Lucas Bell posted a 47 for Lahainaluna. Rhett Wiseman recorded a 54.
