UH loses for first time in five matches

The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team lost for the first time in five matches Friday, 25-19, 25-17, 25-23 to Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif.

Brook Sedore had 10 kills but a hitting percentage of .111 for the Rainbow Warriors (15-11, 13-10 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), ranked ninth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Taylor Averill had seven kills.

The second-ranked Waves (17-6, 17-6) got 11 kills from Josh Taylor.

The teams are scheduled to meet again today in the final match of the regular season for both. The MPSF tournament begins April 19 - UH must win today, and have UCLA lose to Brigham Young, to earn a berth.
