The Molokai High School softball team defeated Hana 13-3 in five innings on Friday at Hana, denying the Dragons' bid to clinch the Maui Interscholastic League Division II regular-season title, and leaving open the possibility of a four-way tie atop the final standings.
Khaylie Adachi was 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs for the Farmers (4-2), and Tai Yamamoto was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Saydee Makaiwi had three hits.
The Dragons fell to 5-2. They can clinch first place and a state-tournament berth with a win today.
Molokai can sew up first place with a win today and a victory Wednesday over Seabury Hall, which is also still in contention, along with Lanai.
The MIL could get three berths to the D-II state tournament. The league's overall third-place team will meet Kauai, in a game tentatively scheduled for May 5, with a state berth at stake.
The MIL tournament is on Molokai, and begins Thursday.
