The University of Hawaii baseball team allowed a run in the bottom of the ninth inning and fell 2-1 to Cal State Northridge on Friday in Northridge, Calif., extending the Rainbow Warriors' losing streak to eight games.
William Colantono's RBI double with one out in the ninth won the game for the Matadors (15-23, 4-7 Big West).
Colantono and Brett Balkan each finished with a pair of hits.
Hawaii (14-21, 2-9) was limited to three hits.
Anthony Cortez (2-0) got the last out in the top of the ninth. Northridge starter Jerry Keel struck out 10 batters while allowing an unearned run in 8 2/3 innings.
Rainbow Warriors reliever Quintin Torres-Costa (2-1) took the loss. Scott Kuzminsky permitted one run in 6 1/3 innings.
The Matadors will try to complete a sweep of the three-game series today.
