Hawaii drops sixth straight Big West game

The University of Hawaii baseball team lost 3-1 to Long Beach State on Sunday at Les Murakami Stadium in Honolulu, extending the Rainbow Warriors' conference losing streak to six games.

Hawaii (19-28, 3-15 Big West) was held to three hits in the loss, which completed a three-game series sweep.

Garrett Hampson's sacrifice fly in the eighth inning put Long Beach State (26-23, 12-6) in front 2-1, and the game's final run came home later in the inning, when Colton Vaughn scored on a wild pitch by Scott Squier (4-5).

Jarrett Arakawa started for UH and permitted one run in 5 1/3 innings. Conner George had a pair of hits.

Ryan Millison (4-1) earned the win with three scoreless innings in relief of Nick Sabo, who allowed two hits.

Hawaii will begin its final conference road series on Friday against UC Davis.
